Role and responsibilities
Keri is responsible for organisational performance, quality assurance and improvement, including supporting statutory inspections to drive improvement across Devon County Council.
Keri’s role is also to support the development of strategic partnerships and lead engagement with identified key strategic stakeholders, including the Combined County Authority, government departments, district councils, businesses, health, the police and others.
Relationships will be held by senior leaders on an individual level and be supported by the new directorate.
Biography
Keri started her career at Devon County Council between 1990 and 1992 after graduating from Plymouth University. She returned to Devon County Council in 2003 working as a senior manager in the Economic Development team, before being promoted to the Council’s Head of Service for Economy, Enterprise and Skills, with responsibility for Post-16 Education, Trading Standards, Community Learning, Economic Development and Skills and Employment.
She is a board member of the Exeter Science Park, the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport, and is the Programme Director for Connecting Devon and Somerset.
She acts as the Council’s organisational lead on a range of corporate priorities including housing, corporate parenting and economic recovery, She also works on devolution at a strategic level to support Team Devon – a partnership of leaders and chief executives across Devon districts, local councils, Dartmoor National Park and the County Council.
Having lived in Devon since the age of two, Keri chose to stay local to both pursue her education and her career. Keri is passionate about the county, and for young people to have the same opportunity.
Outside of work, Keri is a keen rugby fan and supporter of the Chiefs, enjoys walking with her dog and daughters, keeping fit and volunteers at Topsham Cricket Club promoting girls and ladies’ cricket – very occasionally playing herself.
