Stover Country Park contains 125 acres of woodland, lake and marsh, heathland, grassland and a substantial variety of wildlife.
The main feature of the Park is the lake. In Devon there is no other single inland water body equivalent in size, naturalness and diversity, than that found at Stover. The depth varies from 0.5 to 1.5 meters and extends to approximately 4.05 hectares (10 acres). A wide range of bird species can been seen on the lake, particularly in the winter, including mallards, mute swans, pochard, tufted ducks, kingfishers, great crested grebes, herons, cormorants, gull spp., moorhens and coots.
The park is also designated as a dragonfly hotspot by the British Dragonfly Society, and is home to several nationally scarce dragonflies.
Stover also offers an aerial walkway, a bird hide, walking routes, car park and picnic areas.
