Older People Steering Group – 30th January 2025


Meeting Summary

  • An overview regarding the use of insights, including the closure of Pinpoint, had been previously shared.
  • There was a query about the delay in addressing the Pinpoint closure, which was acknowledged, and a resend of the information was offered.

JEF Report:

  • A summary of the JEF report has not yet been created.
  • There was interest in discussing the report with Age UK Devon, but limited capacity was noted on their side.

Carers and O.T Assessment:

  • The Carers section of the last report has been escalated.
  • Questions were raised about the Occupational Therapy (O.T) assessment, and it was explained that relevant parts of the report are being distributed to appropriate managers.

Feedback and Meetings:

  • The group discussed how feedback is shared and the involvement of various team groups.
  • Comments were requested on Care Homes Fees and meeting approaches.
  • A strong turnout was noted for the Care Homes Fees Uplift meeting.
  • Other meetings attended include the 360 group and the Community Services Co-production Group, which shares best practices via the Infra 360 platform hosted by the Devon Integrated Care Social Care Alliance (DISCA).

CQC Reporting:

  • The Involvement Team is preparing a report summarising feedback and outcomes for CQC inspections.
  • There has been communication with the RFI team regarding potential escalation.

Actions Agreed:

  • The Involvement Team will include Age UK Devon representatives when contacting managers with relevant insights.
  • Further discussions will be held to explore how Age UK can contribute to the 360 discussion group.
