Consultation:

Newton Abbot 20

A public consultation is being held in Newton Abbot on people’s attitudes towards a possible community-wide 20 miles per hour (mph) speed limit.

The public consultation is being held in partnership with Newton Abbot Town Council and Teignbridge District Council.

A special task group was set up to look at the issue and in 2019 Devon County Council’s Cabinet approved their recommendations to investigate the viability and delivery of a community 20mph speed limit.

Background and proposals

A Newton Abbot 20 website has been created to provide more information – including the background to the scheme, what’s happened so far and what is being proposed.
