Why we use Egress
Egress Switch is a software system that integrates with Microsoft Outlook and allows Devon County Council staff to send sensitive information securely to third parties via an encrypted email.
This system may be used to share sensitive information with a number of different bodies including:
- individuals receiving a service from the Council
- individuals helping the Council deliver a service to our clients
- Organisations receiving a service from the Council or helping the council in delivering a service such as care homes and charity organisations
Registering for an Egress account
In order to open an encrypted email sent by Devon County Council, you must register for a free egress account.
To register an account visit the Account Sign-up page.
Once you have signed up for a free account, you will have ‘limited’ access to the system which allows you to receive secure email sent by Council staff via Egress and respond to them direct.
