Free national bus pass
Bus passes for free travel are available to older people or those with certain disabilities. A pass entitles the holder to free off-peak travel on registered local buses anywhere in England. This is a national scheme and is not part of the Household Support Fund.
£2 bus fare cap
The Government’s cap on bus travel outside of London has now been extended to run until 31 December 2024. Under the scheme a single bus journey will cost no more than £2 on most routes across England.
Find out more, including participating services, by visiting the government’s £2 bus fare cap page.
Community transport
Community transport is provided by a network of voluntary organisations that help people get to the shops, services, medical appointments or leisure activities where no alternative or suitable transport is available.
