Exhibitors are being urged to act soon in order to secure their place at North Devon’s biggest celebration of local food and drink.

Online bookings are now being accepted for FOODfest 2019, which takes place on Sunday 20 October at Barnstaple Pannier Market and will feature many local food and drink exhibitors.

Now in its twelfth year, event organisers Barnstaple Town Centre Management and North Devon Council have seen the event increase in popularity and success since it first launched in 2008. With top chefs from some of North Devon’s best local restaurants, 100 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors at FOODfest last year, the annual event is now a firm favourite in the foodie calendar.

Hannah Harrington from Barnstaple Town Centre Management, says: “FOODfest is a unique opportunity for local food and drink businesses to showcase the very best of what they have to offer to the thousands of visitors who attend this event each year. We are also delighted to be working with The Taw restaurant at Petroc for another exciting launch event. This year we have launched a new online booking form, so get in quick if you want to be part of the hottest food event of 2019.”

Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor David Worden says: “FOODfest helps to promote our area and support our suppliers, growers and traders. FOODfest is always a massive boost for the town’s economy, with thousands of visitors enjoying some of the best food and drink our wonderful district has to offer. Foodfest is sure to be as popular as ever and is a great opportunity for local food producers to showcase their business so get your applications in soon!”

This year, FoodFest organisers are on a mission to minimise the amount of single use plastics at the event and so will be asking all exhibitors and customers to use alternatives wherever possible.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 31 July. Apply online at www.northdevon.gov.uk/foodfest, email foodfest@barnstaple.co.uk or call 01271 321049 for more information.
