Then consider becoming a Devon Childminder.<\/p>\n<p>Benefits include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rewarding career<\/li>\n<li>flexible hours to suit your circumstances<\/li>\n<li>work from home<\/li>\n<li>be your own boss<\/li>\n<li>make a real difference in your community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preparing to be a Childminder course:<\/h3>\n<p>The Early Years and Childcare Service run a &#8220;Preparing to be a Childminder&#8221; course which provides you with the skills and knowledge to start your new career as a childminder, including setting yourself up as a business.<\/p>\n<p>The course comprises of eLearning modules plus two morning sessions with a tutor (through Microsoft Teams).<br \/>\n(course also available as an eLearning course for those with previous experience)<\/p>\n<p>Next course dates: \u00a0<strong>Thursday 1st and Thursday 22nd February 2024 (9.45am &#8211; 1pm)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Course cost: \u00a325.<\/p>\n<h3>Start up grants:<\/h3>\n<p>If you become an Ofsted registered childminder you can receive a \u00a3600 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-education-entitlements-and-funding\/childminder-grants-scheme-update-april-2023#contents\" rel=\"noopener\">start up grant from the Government<\/a>.
