Lee joined Devon County Council in 2013 as a Trainee Technician Apprentice. Lee achieved EngTech status with the Institute of Engineering And Technology and completed his apprenticeship in 2015. Following this, Lee was promoted first to Technician in 2016 and then to Senior Technician in 2018.<\/p>\n

Lee\u2019s highlight of his time in EDG so far:<\/h3>\n

Roundswell Pedestrian Footbridge, Barnstaple<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI was lucky enough to be on the project team that was involved in this scheme from its early planning
\nphase right through to completion. The scheme was to procure and project manage a design
\nand build NEC contract for the construction of a footbridge across the A39 in Barnstaple.<\/p>\n

I worked with an Engineer to produce the contract drawings and pricing schedule for the Tender
\nprocess to enable the scheme to be procured and appoint a contractor. I also worked with the engineer
\nto develop planning drawings and statements to attain planning consent.<\/p>\n

Once a contractor was appointed and the design accepted, the construction works were undertaken
\nand I was part of the site team that managed and supervised the construction phase. It was a really
\ninteresting project with lots of problem solving and team work.<\/p>\n

I learnt a lot about bridge detailing and contract management. This really helped me to progress in
\nmy career, and gave me the experiences and opportunities I needed to develop.\u201d<\/p>\n
