I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2015 with a degree in Forensic Investigation before joining Devon and Cornwall Police as a Special Constable and Victim Care Volunteer. This enabled me to gain a number of transferable skills in order to progress my career into Trading Standards.
Since my employment with Devon County Council as a Trading Standards Officer I have been given a great deal of training and support in a number of different areas such as fair trading, scams and doorstep crime and am currently progressing my way through a national qualification for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
The flexibility offered by Trading Standards has enabled me to focus my time in the areas which interest me and which I would like to further develop, and whilst the variation of work is challenging it ensures no day is ever the same.
My career to date has been incredibly rewarding and I look forward to developing further within the service.
