I have been a part of the Devon County Council workforce for 18 years. I teach Spanish and Italian language classes to adults at Learn Devon, from beginners to intermediate levels. I also used to teach Latin dance and Latin American cooking.
The satisfaction of being able to see people start learning a foreign language and progressing to a level where they can communicate confidently when visiting foreign shores is definitely a perk of my job.
Since I started working for Devon County Council, I have been given excellent support and training, all of which has helped me to improve my standards in teaching. All the staff make me feel at home and a valuable member of the County Council.
My colleagues at Learn Devon have been very helpful over the years and we work well as a team. I am also grateful for the sound advice and guidance that the senior managers have given me and the rest of the team.
I believe Devon is an ideal place to live and work – the scenery is beautiful and there is a wonderful sense of community spirit here.
