This page provides you with information to support you in your ongoing professional development.<\/p>\n<p>The Academy\u2019s approach to professional development recognises that whilst training has a valuable role in supporting good practice, professional development is far more effective if it includes a breadth of activities for example; case discussion, observation and feedback, reflective supervision, co-working, and involvement in project work.<\/p>\n<p>We believe a strong commitment to learning and development from staff, managers and the service is central to achieving the highest standards of practice across the organisation. To support this commitment please familiarise yourself with our expectations for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/workforcedevelopment\/devon-childrens-social-work-academy\/core-curriculum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">learning and development activity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Children\u2019s Social Care Practice model<\/strong><br \/>\nDevon is currently working to embed a restorative practice based approach to working with Children and Families across Children\u2019s Social Care through formalising a strategic vision for strengths based practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workforce Strategy<\/strong><br \/>\nDevon\u2019s Social Care Workforce Strategy is currently being developed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career Progression<\/strong><br \/>\nDevon\u2019s Social Care Workforce Strategy is currently being developed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Development Opportunities<\/strong><br \/>\nBelow are details of the varied learning opportunities that are available to you at DCC.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"accordion \" data-accordion data-allow-all-closed=\"true\" data-multi-expand=\"true\" ><li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac1\" id=\"head1\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac1\">Research in Practice (RiP) <\/a><div id=\"mac1\" aria-labelledby=\"head1\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" > Our membership to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rip.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RiP<\/a> offers a variety of resources to support your ongoing development including; webinars, frontline briefings, case law summaries, research updates.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<p><li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac2\" id=\"head2\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac2\">Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP) <\/a><div id=\"mac2\" aria-labelledby=\"head2\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" > The partnership has many useful learning resources and materials on their website.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership also offers a variety of face to face learning opportunities, which are regularly reviewed and updated. These are essential to keeping up to date with Safeguarding practice. The pathway includes <strong>&#8216;Introduction to Practice Learning&#8217; \u00a0<\/strong>a 2 day workshop program that prepares Social Workers to support students on placement.
