The Adult Social Care (Workforce Development) Team provides a service to current and potential Social Workers within Devon County Council and students on external Social Work training courses.
- Social Work Traineeship Scheme – supporting the development of those identified as potential social workers within the Council through qualifying training.
- The Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Programme – supporting Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) in receiving consistent support in their first year of practice so they can become confident, competent and capable professionals.

Are you a BME social worker?
There is an on-going opportunity to discuss and share experiences for those social workers who identify as being from a Black or Minority Ethnic Group (BME). This can include the opportunity to explore challenges and common issues which can be faced by BME social workers. This is a regional Black & Minority Ethnic networking group for local authority social workers across the South West including Plymouth, Torbay, Cornwall and Devon.
