The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.
We monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.
- The five key questions – is a service safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led?
- The ratings – we will rate services. These ratings will help people to compare services and to highlight where care is outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate
- Download the handbook for your service from:http://www.cqc.org.uk/content/provider-handbooks
- Guidance for Mangers
The detail in the handbooks is all about making the Mum Test real. Is this a service that we would be happy for someone we love and care for to use? If it is, we should celebrate that; but if not, we will do something about it.
Adult social care Managers – use the printable workbook to give new staff an overview of CQC. Includes knowledge checker.
