As the DCC commissioned workbook Preventing Infection: Workbook and Guidance for Health and Social Care Staff is readily available in all workplaces, there is no need to undertake the Skills for Care Workbook as well.
I include it here should any staff want to use it for refresher purposes – model answers are available in the County Wide Best Practice folder/training/Induction
All staff need to undertake the workbook: ‘Preventing Infection: Workbook and Guidance for Health and Social Care Staff’ within their induction period. For copies email: email@example.com
Other training resources can be used for Core and refresher training – link to the Core https://www.devon.gov.uk/workforcedevelopment/adult-provider-services/core-training/core-training-child/infection-control
The Preventing Infection: Workbook and Guidance for Health and social care staff is a knowledge assessment.
Observations: for induction purposes the only assessment necessary is for handwashing.
All workplaces have been issued with ‘Glitter bug’ – a hand cream and UV light to support good practice in handwashing.
