This morning showed me just how amazing our children are. 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 Our 10 year old 'Buzzard' 🦅 (junior leader) told me last week she wanted to make cookies. So this morning I gave her the ingredients and she independently: 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 - lit the wood-fired cob oven and kept it going - Organised the other children to wash their hands - found a recipe and not only followed it but used some tricky ratio maths to double the portions - used the fire gloves to put the tray into the cob oven - checked on them regularly - took them out and divided them up to make sure everybody got to try some 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 AND (my favourite and most forest school-y bit) 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 - She (unprompted) reflected on the whole process and told me why she thought some turned out differently to others and how she would improve the recipe if she was going to do it again. All I got to do during the whole process was stand back, watch and try to contain how proud I was :) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #forest #forestschool #forest #cooking #learning #play #independentwoman #childled #outdoors #wearedevon #devon #middevon
