These night storage heaters must be double wrapped in tough plastic and sealed (including any frames and internal components).<\/p>\n<p>Please do not dismantle the heater if you think asbestos may be present.<\/p>\n<p>If it contains asbestos, please advise a member of staff at the recycling centre so it can be segregated.<\/p>\n<p>Night storage heaters are classified as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and are accepted free of charge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If your storage heater is newer than 1974 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Night storage heaters installed after 1974, are unlikely to contain asbestos insulation.<\/p>\n<p>These units can be placed into the other electrical appliances container at any of Devon County Council\u2019s Recycling Centres.<\/p>\n<p>Night storage heaters are classified as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and are accepted free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Should the site staff suspect that your night storage heater is likely to contain asbestos, you will need to comply with the above procedures. The site manager\u2019s decision is final.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<div id=\"tabs\"><ul class=\"tabs\" data-responsive-accordion-tabs=\"accordion medium-tabs large-tabs\"  role=\"tablist\" id=\"tablist\" data-multi-expand=\"true\" data-allow-all-closed=\"true\" ><li role=\"presentation\" class=\" is-active item-0 tabs-title\" >\r\n                <a role=\"tab\" href=\"#t0\" aria-controls=\"0\" aria-selected=\"true\">Acceptable types of asbestos<\/a>\r\n                <\/li><li role=\"presentation\" class=\" item-1 tabs-title\" >\r\n                <a role=\"tab\" href=\"#t1\" aria-controls=\"1\">Disposal information<\/a>\r\n                <\/li><li role=\"presentation\" class=\" item-2 tabs-title\" >\r\n                <a role=\"tab\" href=\"#t2\" aria-controls=\"2\">Charges<\/a>\r\n                <\/li><\/ul><div class=\"tabs-content\" data-tabs-content=\"tablist\"><div id=\"t0\" class=\"tabs-panel  is-active\"><div class=\"content-box section-box\"><p>The following types of asbestos are acceptable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cement bonded asbestos sheeting.<\/li>\n<li>Cement bonded pipes, guttering or flues.<\/li>\n<li>Other bonded asbestos that is household in origin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any other types of asbestos will<strong> not<\/strong> be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>We can accept asbestos sheets measuring up to 3m (10ft) in length and 1.5m(4.5ft) in width. We will not accept asbestos sheets where any dimension is larger than this.<\/p>\n<p>Asbestos must be double wrapped in tough\/thick plastic and completely sealed with duct tape (woven plastic material will not be acceptable for this purpose). Sheets must be wrapped individually.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, we can accept asbestos double bagged (defined as a small, plastic sand\/aggregate bag from standard DIY stores that can be safely lifted by one person) and sealed with duct tape.<\/p>\n<p>We cannot guarantee acceptance of large asbestos sheets due to limited container space. Please ring 0345 1551010 to check availability. The recycling centres listed above will accept a <strong>maximum of 10 sheets\/bags.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any waste created by a tradesperson\/business at your home will not be accepted at our\u00a0recycling centres. If you pay for work to be carried out on your home, it is the responsibility of the tradesperson you have employed to dispose\u00a0of any waste and the cost of this should be\u00a0agreed and quoted for before work begins.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"t1\" class=\"tabs-panel \"><div class=\"content-box section-box\"><p>Site staff are not permitted to assist with loading asbestos into the skip.
