This is to automate and speed up the cheque deposit process\u00a0 and eliminate fraud.<\/p>\n<p>If you are sending cheques to Revenue, please adhere to the following guidelines &#8211; as the reading and scanning software is very sensitive. Where cheques are being rejected by the bank these will unfortunately be returned to you .<\/p>\n<p>Badly handwritten cheques\u00a0(these are now being\u00a0rejected by the bank)<\/p>\n<p>Staples (please remove all staples)<\/p>\n<p>No tippex (scanning software cannot read)<\/p>\n<p>No torn cheques (won\u2019t go through the reader)<\/p>\n<p>No Sellotape on cheques (won\u2019t go through the reader)<\/p>\n<p>All amendments to cheques must be countersigned\u00a0by the payee<\/p>\n<p>Cheques to be made payable to Devon County Council<\/p>\n<p>If you have any queries on this, please email Revenue via <a href=\"mailto:dccremit@devon.gov.uk\">dccremit@devon.gov.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Revenue have moved to new cheque reading and imaging scanning software.
