Our approach is rooted in listening, collaboration and inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We take time to understand each child or young person\u2019s strengths, interests and experiences. We recognise that technology can be emotional and empowering, not just functional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ICT Consultations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Settings can request an ICT consultation for advice on how they can enable children and young people to express their thinking in ways that work for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sessions are designed to be flexible and responsive to need, usually around 45 minutes. This is based on shared information and discussion, ensuring everyone\u2019s perspective is heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supporting pupils to find the most effective way for them to record and express ideas (e.g. typing, speech, multimedia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working together to develop typing skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working together to explore making use of Speech to text software<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using technology to access, participate and be heard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>App suggestions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Literacy support software recommendations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tips for how to implement ideas in the setting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discussions around equipment and peripherals such as headsets, keyboards and styluses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the session, a write up of the discussion will be completed and sent out. This will support all children and young people to attend, engage and thrive in their educational setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It describes approaches, provision and practice that is \u2018helpful to all, harmful to none and crucial for some\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requesting access to SEND support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Schools and settings wishing to access SEND support should read the guidance and submit a request for access to SEND support form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-dcc-nostyle-button\"><a onclick=\"dataLayer.push({&amp;apos;buttonEvent&amp;apos;: &amp;apos;Information page&amp;apos;});\" class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/request-for-access-to-send-support-guidance\/\">Request for access to SEND support<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What we do We work alongside children and young people, families, and settings to explore how technology can support participation, independence and voice.
