{"id":7474,"date":"2022-06-14T14:48:58","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T13:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta.devon.gov.uk\/supportforschools\/?page_id=7474"},"modified":"2024-12-10T11:16:22","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T11:16:22","slug":"statutory-guidance-and-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/statutory-guidance-and-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Statutory guidance and information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DfE guidance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEND Code of practice: 0 to 25 years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25\" rel=\"noopener\">Guidance on the special educational needs and disability (SEND) system for children and young people aged 0-25<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Equality Act<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/equality-act-2010-advice-for-schools\" rel=\"noopener\">The Equality Act 2010 and Schools guide<\/a> contains DfE advice for school leaders, school staff, governing bodies and local authorities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National strategy for autistic children, young people and adults<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The government\u2019s national strategy for improving the lives of autistic people and their families and carers in England, and implementation plan for 2021 to 2022.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/national-strategy-for-autistic-children-young-people-and-adults-2021-to-2026\" rel=\"noopener\">National strategy for autistic children, young people and adults: 2021 to 2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Devon guidance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Devon SEND Strategy 2021-2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/education-and-families\/send-local-offer\/working-together\/what-we-are-doing-devons-send-strategy\/\">Devon\u2019s SEND strategy for 2021-2024<\/a> has been produced in collaboration with families and sets out how we will help improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Devon Accessibility Strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/devoncc.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/s\/PublicDocs\/Education\/EecjrVEeJaNBkhxmvCQka68BYDWH9n_1vno2idypMTjR-w?e=JE8Lr6\" rel=\"noopener\">Devon Accessibility Strategy 2017-20<\/a>&nbsp;applies to Local Authority maintained schools, nurseries, children\u2019s centres and early years settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Accessibility Strategy sets out the Local Authority&#8217;s plan to increase access to education for pupils with disabilities in all schools. Schools should take account of the strategy when drawing up their own school accessibility plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy is also relevant to academies and free schools as well as settings not maintained by the Local Authority.
