{"id":6700,"date":"2022-05-11T08:45:30","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T07:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta.devon.gov.uk\/supportforschools\/?page_id=6700"},"modified":"2024-12-09T14:13:46","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T14:13:46","slug":"pshe","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/school-effectiveness\/teaching-and-learning\/curriculum\/pshe\/","title":{"rendered":"Personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PSHE is a planned programme of learning opportunities and experiences that help young people grow and develop as individuals and as members of families and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Government guidance requires all schools to teach relationships education or relationships and sex education and health education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National PSHE CPD Programme will lead participants through the areas necessary to have a confident, accurate and up-to-date knowledge, appreciation and understanding of PSHE along with associated research, guidance and pedagogy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6 virtual sessions will enable participants to apply an evidence-based approach to their teaching and strategic developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devoneducationservices.co.uk\/events\/315c771e-2bea-498e-9185-794eec9ef7c8\/National-PSHE-CPD-Programme-online\" rel=\"noopener\">View full course details<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PSHE additional support opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your school, group of schools or MAT can purchase an in-school introductory overview of the now finalised statutory requirements, led by the Strategic Lead for PSHE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session would comprise a 1.5 hour briefing, providing opportunities for leaders and staff to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>explore the statutory guidance for relationships, sex and health education curriculum requirement from 2020<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify key implications of this implementation, including school policy and governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>carry out an audit to identify the next steps for the school(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Costs of this support will vary according to the size of the group.
