{"id":4262,"date":"2021-06-08T14:41:05","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T13:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/supportforschools\/?page_id=4262"},"modified":"2025-04-02T09:07:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T08:07:36","slug":"the-emotional-health-and-wellbeing-pathway","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/the-emotional-health-and-wellbeing-pathway\/","title":{"rendered":"The emotional health and wellbeing pathway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The emotional health and wellbeing pathway has been developed in partnership with colleagues from the Educational Psychology Service, CAMHS, School Nursing and Public Health to support education settings to identify need, implement effective interventions and source appropriate external support in a graduated way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pathway follows the I THRIVE Framework which is a person-centred and needs-led approach to supporting mental health needs.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/devoncc.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/s\/PublicDocs\/Education\/EWVqepY_rKdElaaQEiSaLnIBWXRlVtnRCnTFyZaEVrmILQ?e=enaw8U\" rel=\"noopener\">The emotional health and wellbeing pathway can be downloaded as a PDF<\/a> if required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level of need: Thriving &#8211; universal level<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most children and young people thrive and cope with the \u2018normal\u2019 difficulties and challenges of life and of growing up. Seek support from the Learning Disability Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may need to contact the police if behaviours are aggressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow safeguarding procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What can the school or setting do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contact parents immediately unless you have safeguarding concerns that would increase the risk to the child\/young person by discussing with the parent\/carer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact CAMHS-SPA on <a href=\"tel:03300245321\">0330 0245 321<\/a> for advice and for a decision on the urgency of the mental health need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After 5 pm, contact <a href=\"tel:03005555000\">0300 555 5000<\/a> or the out-of-hours GP service by dialing NHS 111 or take to accident and emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community and national support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community support<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a child is in immediate danger contact the police on 999.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a child or young person is in need of protection or safeguarding contact Devon Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
