If the inclusion and SEND advice and suggested strategies available in the universal support offer are not enough to support the needs of a child or young person, more targeted intervention may be needed. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

OAIP frameworks and guidance – Targeted Support Framework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Framework<\/strong> for schools builds on the expectations of the Ordinarily Available Inclusive Education Framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It sets out the additional targeted support<\/strong> that mainstream schools and settings should provide for children and young people with emerging or identified additional needs, including special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), building on the inclusive provision already in place for all learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inclusion Partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All maintained schools and academies in Devon have a named Inclusion Partner (IP)<\/strong> who works with schools and local professionals to support inclusion, improve attendance, reduce exclusions, and help children and young people with SEND and other vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to their regular termly visits, Inclusion Partners are available for schools to contact at any time for advice and support with specific concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early Years Quality and Inclusion Partners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An Early Years Quality and Inclusion Partner (EYQIP)<\/strong> is assigned to each EY setting, including those run by schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EYQIPs run three online Senco Forums per term, offered at different times of day. New to SENCo training is held termly and a New to SENCo teams call as and when needed for an individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Termly Targeted Support Meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Targeted Support Meetings will be held termly for schools where attendance outcomes indicate the need for more frequent review and support. The frequency of meetings will be reviewed regularly to ensure the level of support is proportionate to each school’s needs and aligned with national attendance guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TSMs will be facilitated by the school\u2019s Inclusion Partner. They provide provide a space to discuss individual children whose attendance remains a concern, where barriers are complex, or where additional advice, support or multi-agency involvement may be beneficial. Meetings can also be an opportunity to review attendance trends, discuss the effectiveness of the school’s OAIP Attendance and Belonging offer, and identify actions that will strengthen attendance across the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inclusion drop-ins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to their termly meetings with an Inclusion Partner, schools can also book onto our regular Inclusion Consultation sessions, which take place twice a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locality Inclusion Drop-Ins – Schools<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

These solution-focused consultations with Inclusion Partners, Educational Psychologists and other relevant professionals can be used to focus on developing and strengthening inclusive practice across your school, or on the needs of an individual pupil where parental consent has been obtained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 30-minute Microsoft Teams consultations offer an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns relating to SEND and inclusion within your school. They provide practical advice, support and signposting to appropriate services and resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
