Please gain consent and store this for your records, there is no need to submit this. Please be prepared to explain the exceptional circumstances as to why you do not have permission.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devoncc.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/PublicDocs\/Education\/IQBNqX54i-LHQ7tSRHK_BrkgATZ2fnTbPEPwRyLKXJ1T7b0?e=7Whtdr\" rel=\"noopener\">EY Inclusion Consultation \u2013 parental consent form<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-1\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Can I discuss more than one individual child within my time slot? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>No, you can book one slot for one individual child, or one slot to discuss the needs of a group or cohort strategically as a whole and not individually. There is not enough time to discuss more than one child.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-2\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Can I book multiple slots each week? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>We kindly ask you not to book multiple slots as that will prevent other settings from accessing support.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-3\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Can I book one slot over subsequent weeks, i.e. one per week every week? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>We will be monitoring the frequency of bookings by individual settings and identify those who are booking more than one slot as it may be that a whole setting SEND consultation would be more appropriate.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-4\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Can I book a slot in a different locality to mine? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>No. As we are now working in localities, the appropriate locality EY team will be supporting their locality consultations. If you book a different locality to your own, you will be contacted and asked to book within your own locality.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-5\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Do I have to answer every question on the booking form? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Yes, even if the question is not applicable you can either tick the \u2018other\u2019 box or write N\/A.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-6\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Will every consultation be only half an hour, it doesn\u2019t seem long enough? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Yes. The consultations are tightly timed sessions to clearly identify the issues and the panel to offer a solution focussed approach. These consultations have been taking place for primary schools for a very long time and those have illustrated that thirty minutes is plenty of time. The panel will end the session after that time, as other consultations are booked for after each session<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-7\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">What format will the consultations take? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>We will ask you to succinctly state the reasons why you have booked a slot, and this will be followed by around twenty minutes of solution focussed advice and guidance from the panel. We will then summarise actions and the session will end. Please ensure that only the main concerns are shared during this time, and allow the panel time to advise.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-8\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Do I need to book a consultation if I am thinking of making an application for individual inclusion funding? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Not necessarily. If you have evidence of needs, and have implemented at least half a term of an assess-plan-do-review cycle, then you should have enough to support a funding application.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-9\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Do I need to book a consultation if I am thinking of making a referral to Nursery Plus for setting support or* Early Years Inclusion Service for home support? (previously known as EYCNS; * no child should be referred to both agencies at the same time)  <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Not necessarily. If you have evidence of needs and have implemented at least half a term of an assess-plan-do-review cycle, then you should have enough to support a referral. If you want to discuss whether to refer to the Early Years Inclusion Service for <strong>setting<\/strong> support, you must book a SEND consult to discuss this before doing so.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-10\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">I have a child who is being supported by Nursery Plus or the Early Years Inclusion Team (at home). Should I book an online consultation to discuss their needs? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Your first port of call is the agency that is currently supporting that child.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-11\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Do I have to have used Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision (OAIP) and the Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Framework (OATS)?  <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Yes. Settings and schools are expected to access both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/ordinarily-available-inclusive-provision\/\">OAIP<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/ordinarily-available-inclusive-provision\/targeted-support-framework-eyfs\/\">OATS<\/a> frameworks and toolkits prior to contacting an Early Years Quality and Inclusion Partner (EYQIP) or an Early Years Sufficiency and Welfare Advisor (EYSWA) or an Early Years Inclusion Practitioner (EYIS).<\/p>\n<p>We are moving away from the model of inclusion visits for every child and empowering settings to use the both the OAIP and OATS frameworks and toolkits as part of their everyday inclusive practice. It may be appropriate for some children to receive a visit, but the expectation is for settings to make the necessary reasonable adjustments for each child.<\/p>\n<p>There is an expectation that at least once cycle of assess-plan-do-review (minimum six weeks) before booking a slot. If any inclusion consultation form states that the OAIP and OATS have not been used first, the request for a slot will be cancelled.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-12\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">After the consultation will I get a visit note or record of the meeting? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW101778063 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW101778063 BCX0\">No. Please come prepared to write your own notes for your records.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-13\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">My setting is in Devon, but the child is from another county, or my setting is out of county, but the child is from Devon, can I book a slot? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Yes, you can, and if there are other cross border issues regarding which local authority to make referrals to for example, we can discuss that in your session.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li id=\"item-6a19a9383e0c2-14\" class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item=\"\"><a href=\"#\" class=\"accordion-title\">Do I need to book a slot if my main concern is about a child transitioning into school? <\/a><div class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><p>Not necessarily. We have many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/school-effectiveness\/teaching-and-learning\/early-years\/transitions-and-starting-school\/\">resources to support transition<\/a> on our website.
