of full sentences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-teach the language used to access maths lessons<\/strong> &#8211; for example, before, after, greater than, less than.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Provide 1:1 precision teaching<\/strong> (focused on the child or young person&#8217;s identified area of need &#8211; for example, recall of digits, or fluent recognition of small quantities).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan pre-teaching based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/school-effectiveness\/teaching-and-learning\/curriculum\/mathematics\/teaching-resources\/connective-model-and-cpa-approach\/\">Connective These were aimed at children and young people in Key Stage 2.<\/li>\n<li>use &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/devoneducationservices.co.uk\/events\/81a1884c-ecce-4329-91f8-b1c9b98a9a96\/Maths-intervention-programme-spot-on-with-number\" rel=\"noopener\">Spot on with number<\/a>,&#8217; 1:1 or small group (up to four children). This is for Key Stage 1 children with moderate difficulties in maths, or older children and young people with specific difficulties, including dyscalculia.<\/li>\n<li>use &#8216;From Counting to Calculating,&#8217; a small group intervention to support children who lie just above the bottom 5% in Year 2 and for children older than this who are working significantly behind age related expectations.
