In order to meet the demands of the ever changing demographics in our Devon schools we review our core offer to meet the needs of the children we support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unsure whether your school\/setting is a maintained school or not, you can visit the Devon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/schools\/school\/\">school list.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"f\">Funding for multilingual\/&#8217;EAL&#8217; children<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools receive funding for&nbsp;<strong>multilingual children<\/strong>&nbsp;only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every school receives \u2018EAL\u2019 funding, which is funding to support your Multilingual (English as an additional language) children.&nbsp; You will receive this in your yearly budget and it is based on you October census data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/devoncc.sharepoint.com\/:x:\/s\/PublicDocs\/Education\/EbpFTZqKzK5EsQFw2AmJ4boBm5hQZQT_YEOVZEvqnpq3nQ?e=1dzkbg?e=1dzkbg\" rel=\"noopener\">Schools budget calculator<\/a>&nbsp;(25\/26 financial year)\/<a href=\"https:\/\/devoncc.sharepoint.com\/:x:\/s\/PublicDocs\/Education\/IQBJ6RTNTdNbT6R5ol1Po0G-AWYC2P2Y_FBjUEnNdzmjOrs?e=A0Qm9y\" rel=\"noopener\">Schools budget calculator&nbsp;<\/a>(26\/27 financial year), which is on the public domain, where you can see how much funding a school received.&nbsp; This is often thousands of pounds.&nbsp; To use this spread sheet, ensure you are on the Summary page.&nbsp; Then enter the school<a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/schools\/\">&nbsp;DfE number&nbsp;<\/a>in the top left, without the \u2018\/\u2019.&nbsp; Press enter and then you will find the \u2018EAL\u2019 funding under the AEN tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools who are supporting some refugees, such as Afghan refugees may also be in receipt of additional funding. The families local key worker will inform you if your school is entitled to this funding \u2013 this is usually arranged through district councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"edeas-funding\">EDEAS funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>EDEAS&nbsp;<strong>does not<\/strong>&nbsp;retain any funds or grant funding for requests. EDEAS are unable to support you to access further funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDEAS to however often deliver funded projects, such as additional training. When these are available to schools, these will be advertised in our newsletter, Leadership update from Devon County Council to schools and on our webpages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"m\">Maintained schools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a onclick=\"dataLayer.push({&amp;apos;buttonEvent&amp;apos;: &amp;apos;Information page&amp;apos;});\" class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/devoneducationservices.co.uk\/microsites\/edeas-connect\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Access&nbsp;EDEAS Connect &#8211; subscription only access to expert resources, guidance and community support for schools and settings (free to maintained schools and EYFS attached to maintained schools)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Maintained schools direct funding to EDEAS at the start of each financial year through what is known as the de-delegation budget, which funds your de-delegated core offer which is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"s\">Supporting multilingual children<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Funded access to EDEAS&#8217; community learning website, via the<a href=\"https:\/\/devoneducationservices.co.uk\/login\/?returnUrl=\/microsites\/ethnically-diverse-education-achievement-service-edeas\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/devoneducationservices.co.uk\/login\/?returnUrl=\/microsites\/ethnically-diverse-education-achievement-service-edeas\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> Devon Education Services Shop platform<\/a>.  This platform provides a wealth of information in supporting multilingual children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to 1hr online F2F interpreting per child for a meeting per year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to 4 visits of bilingual support, for new children with proficiency levels A or B.&nbsp; This is for languages <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/inclusion\/ethnically-diverse-education-achievement-service\/supporting-multilingual-children\/languages-available\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/inclusion\/ethnically-diverse-education-achievement-service\/supporting-multilingual-children\/languages-available\/\">inhouse<\/a> only. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to unlimited <a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/book\/EALsupportclinic@devoncc.onmicrosoft.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Supporting multilingualism clinics<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to Advisory teacher consultancy, please book a clinic in the first instance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intervention through English via a Bilingual Support Worker, where bilingual support is not possible and if deemed appropriate for children with proficiency levels A or B &#8211; for 2 visits.
