{"id":22552,"date":"2023-10-16T17:13:22","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T16:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings-new\/administration-and-finance\/administration\/school-census\/school-business-professional-sims-users\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T16:58:50","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T15:58:50","slug":"school-business-professional-sims-users","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/administration-and-finance\/administration\/school-census\/school-business-professional-sims-users\/","title":{"rendered":"School Business Professional &#8211; Bromcom users"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For all staff who fall within the School Business Professional posts, that is, Bursar, Business Manager, Finance Officer, Office Manager, Premises Manager or ICT Network Manager, schools need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Update staff contracts to add \u2018School Business Professional\u2019 in the Post (SWF)* field <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>add qualifications for these members of staff, as a new set of qualifications is available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>add destination and reasons for leaving where applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Updating staff contracts <\/strong><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<s><\/s><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the member of staff\u2019s contract via Staff &gt; Staff Profile &gt; Contracts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlight the relevant contract and double click to Edit an existing contract, otherwise select Add Contract (+ icon)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Contract Information tab of the Add\/Edit Contract screen update the Post (SWF)* field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adding Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The DfE introduced some additional qualification codes for School Business Professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a relevant qualification in Bromcom;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>open the member of staff\u2019s record via Staff &gt; Staff Profile and click on Qualifications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the Qualifications Panel click on the + icon in the top right corner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the \u2018Add\/Edit Qualification\u2019 screen, in the Subject Area field select \u2018Non-Standard Codes\u2019 then in the Main Subject field select the appropriate qualification from the drop down menu. Click Save once completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Available subjects for School Business Professionals are listed below;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Z206 \u2013 Level 3 School Administration Foundation Certificate&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z207 \u2013 Level 3 Procurement &amp; Supply Assistant&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z208 \u2013 Level 4 SBP Apprenticeship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z209 \u2013 Level 4&nbsp;Diploma School Business Management (SBM)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Z210 \u2013 Level 4 Commercial procurement &amp; supply&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z211 \u2013 Level 4 CIPFA Certificate in Public Sector Asset Management for School Business&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z212 \u2013 Level 5 Diploma SBM&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z213 \u2013 Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z214 \u2013 Level 7 CIPFA Diploma in School Financial and Operational Leadership&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Z215 \u2013 Level 7 Senior Leaders Masters Degree Apprenticeship.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>Some superseded qualifications held by data subjects have been renamed and should be recorded under their current name.
