{"id":21028,"date":"2023-07-05T15:14:39","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T14:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings-new\/send\/areas-of-need\/sensory-and-or-physical\/visual-impairment\/how-to-help-at-home\/grants-for-technology\/"},"modified":"2024-12-11T16:56:46","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T16:56:46","slug":"grants-for-technology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/sensory-and-or-physical\/visual-impairment\/parents\/grants-for-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants for technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There is funding to help buy equipment to support your child\u2019s vision in the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guide Dogs can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidedogs.org.uk\/services\/children-and-young-peoples-services\/access-technology-and-grants#.WleBcXlLHIU\" rel=\"noopener\">help fund assistive technology for your child<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply for funds for technology or sensory items where there\u2019s no source of statutory funding, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>tablets, for example iPads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>braille devices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>laptops and specialist software<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>video magnifiers (CCTV)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>VICTA supports children and young people who are blind or partially sighted by providing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victa.org.uk\/grants\/\" rel=\"noopener\">grants that support the purchase of equipment<\/a>&nbsp;to aid their visual impairment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VICTA grant guidelines. You can apply for a grant if your child is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>registered or are register-able blind or partially sighted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>up to and including 29 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a permanent resident in the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All items supplied through the VICTA grant scheme are for home use only, not for school or college.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is funding to help buy equipment to support your child\u2019s vision in the home.
