{"id":19310,"date":"2022-11-07T14:24:58","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T14:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings-new\/?page_id=19310"},"modified":"2026-04-07T13:50:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T12:50:38","slug":"delivery-model","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/educational-psychology\/educational-psychology-service\/delivery-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Psychology Service delivery 2025\/26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Please note: the window for expressing an interest in our traded service for the 25\/26 academic year is now closed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are currently planning our service delivery for September 2026, and will provide updates on this as soon as we able to do so.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Educational Psychology Early Intervention Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Educational Psychology Service continues to balance the statutory requirements for Education Health and Care needs assessments with the demand for early intervention support. Educational Psychologists play a critical role in both areas, and while statutory assessments remain the highest priority, early intervention work contributes to inclusive school communities, as well as supporting children\u2019s needs before they escalate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our current offer to schools includes the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. School review consultation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focused on addressing whole-school priorities and challenges regarding SEND and inclusion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Includes collaborative discussions with multi-agency representatives, considering evidence-based interventions at various levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helps to identify the needs of vulnerable groups, create action plans, and outline additional services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provided free of charge as part of the Inclusive Communities core offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Psychology Works Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whole school\u00a0<strong>strategic planning<\/strong>,\u00a0using person centred tools to aid whole school and staff development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidenced based&nbsp;<strong>consultation<\/strong>&nbsp;to identify needs, problem solve, create shared goals and intervention plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tailored&nbsp;<strong>training&nbsp;<\/strong>on diverse subjects, designed to meet settings\u2019 needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Individual or group supervision<\/strong>&nbsp;available to support staff well-being and promote effective decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Services are purchasable (primary schools: up to 2 days, secondary or special schools: up to 4 days)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEND support for Devon schools and settings currently available<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>SEND and inclusion support for schools is provided by a range of different services,&nbsp;working in different ways to respond to every school&#8217;s unique situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SEND and inclusion specialist support services\u2019 advice, teaching and support for children and young people with SEND can be accessed through our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/request-for-access-to-send-support-guidance\/\">Request for SEND Support form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/send-strategic-support\/send-helpline\/\">SEND Support consultations for schools<\/a>: An opportunity to book a 30-minute TEAMS conversation with a multi-professional group consisting of Inclusion Partners, Educational Psychologists and other partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEND resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with our partner services, the Educational Psychology Service has identified the most relevant resources to support areas of need often asked about by schools, parents, carers and other professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are focused on support in schools. Many also have information that is useful for supporting children at home or learning more about a specific area of need, such as cognition and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communication and interaction <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/communication-and-interaction\/one-minute-guides\/language-and-communication-autism\/\">Linking language and learning<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/communication-and-interaction\/one-minute-guides\/developmental-language-disorder\/\">developmental language disorder (DLD)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting SLCN in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/communication-and-interaction\/one-minute-guides\/supporting-slcn-in-primary-school\/\">primary schools<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/communication-and-interaction\/one-minute-guides\/supporting-slcn-in-secondary-schools\/\">secondary schools<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/send\/areas-of-need\/communication-and-interaction\/one-minute-guides\/autism-and-girls\/\">Autism and girls<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting transition for pupils with SLCN <a to primary<\/a> and <a
