class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Young babies notice the size and amount of things around them. This is called \u2018number sense\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Young children learn about maths every day from the world around them. Hearing counting, nursery rhymes and \u2018maths talk\u2019 in daily life helps children to learn maths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When children begin school, they continue to improve their understanding of number, shape and space. Adults can also improve their understanding throughout their lives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-psychological-factors-help-you-learn-maths\">What psychological factors help you learn maths?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thinking and Understanding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The order we think about things, what we pay attention to and when we pay attention to it, all affect how we understand maths. This is known as \u2018executive functioning\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding and estimating size, shape and space by looking at objects and pictures is an important maths skill.
