The meeting focuses on understanding barriers to attendance, implementing effective interventions, and improving attendance outcomes through a person-centred and restorative approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"aims\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aims<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review attendance data and identify learners requiring targeted support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyse attendance patterns, trends, and underlying causes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor the impact of interventions on attendance and engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Escalate concerns where attendance continues to decline despite support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focus particular on the attendance to school of vulnerable pupils particularly those under care orders\/plans and those who are in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan or on SEND support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and early intervention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"scope\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scope<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting will consider learners who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have attendance below agreed organisational thresholds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate persistent or severe absenteeism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are at risk of disengagement from learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have attendance concerns linked to safeguarding, wellbeing, SEND, behavioural, family, transport, housing, health, or other vulnerabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Require coordinated multi-agency or cross-departmental support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"membership\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Core members may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Senior member of school staff team (Chair)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attendance Lead (if different to staff members mentioned)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pastoral or Welfare Lead (if different to staff members mentioned)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safeguarding representative (if different to staff members mentioned)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SEND representative (if different to staff members mentioned)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant teaching staff or tutor if appropriate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local Authority Inclusion Partner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional attendees may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Careers Adviser<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental Health Practitioner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>External agencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parent\/carer (where appropriate)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learner (where appropriate)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"frequency\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Held termly for each school or depending on local needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional case discussions may be convened where urgent attendance concerns arise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"key-responsibilities\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"chair\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead meetings effectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure discussions remain focused on solutions and outcomes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm decisions and where they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall below an agreed attendance threshold (for example, 90%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show a rapid decline in attendance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have repeated unauthorised absences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are identified through safeguarding or welfare concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Require additional support to sustain engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2
