Our events have limited <\/strong>places which must be booked in advance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is essential that children booked onto a Children\u2019s Activity have a responsible adult present throughout, with a maximum of four per adult.<\/p>\n

To book<\/h2>\n

Follow the relevant link to book via Eventbrite. Please note that Eventbrite places a small non-refundable booking charge on top of our price. We are not able to offer refunds on our events unless we cancel, so please be sure that you would like to attend before booking.<\/p>\n

There is a car parking charge of \u00a32.20 for two hours and \u00a34.40 for all day (payable via cash, card or RingGo). Charges apply from dawn until dusk.<\/p>\n

Unless otherwise stated please meet outside the Rangers’ Office.<\/p>\n

September<\/h2>\n

Saturday 12 September: 10.30am – 1pm – Stover Park Guided Walk – Heritage Open Day Event<\/h4>\n

Stover Country Park is hosting a walk around the Grade II Listed Park and Garden, created in the 1700s, including areas not usually open to the public.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trace the route used by the horse drawn carriages as they made their way under the Gatehouse arch, along the old carriage drive past Stover Lake, and up to Stover House. Stover School have kindly given permission to access their grounds to externally view James Templer\u2019s stables, the only one of its design in the Country, the Duke of Somerset\u2019s clock tower stable block, the Ionic Temple and Stover House.<\/p>\n

Saturday 26 September: 1pm \u2013 3.30pm – Autumn Foraging Walk and Fire Cider Workshop<\/h4>\n

Join Naturemake for a lovely imaginative autumnal woodland fairy or elf house workshop. Forage from our beautiful collection of natural treasures from near and far to create your magical miniature lands\u00a0complete with little owls or foxes .<\/p>\n

Sunday 11th<\/sup> October: Guided Walk \u2013 Fungus Foray – 10:30am \u2013 12:30pm<\/h4>\n

Join a local expert and discover the fascinating world of the toadstool and its relations.<\/p>\n

Friday 30th <\/sup>October: Family Halloween Trail – Time slots from 6.00pm \u2013 7:45pm<\/h4>\n

Join us on a self-led spooky trail around the park after dark. Followed by a hot chocolate around the campfire.<\/p>\n

All groups must have a torch to take part in the trail. The trail will take approximately 1 hour to complete and will follow the path round the lake.<\/p>\n

December<\/h2>\n

Saturday 5th December: Naturemake Workshop – 11am – 1pm or 2pm – 4pm<\/h4>\n

Join Naturemake for festive fun family 2 hour crafting workshop. Design and make your own miniature winter wonderlands, cheeky reindeer or magical elf houses.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 8th<\/sup> December: Christmas Carols at Stover – 7pm \u2013 8.30pm<\/h4>\n

Bring a candle or torch, join in the festivities and give your vocal cords an airing. Join the Newton Abbot Salvation Army Band and sing carols around the bonfire. A hot mulled drink and mince pies are provided.<\/p>\n

Saturday 19th<\/sup> and Sunday 20th<\/sup> December: Children\u2019s Event: Christmas Gnome Trail – Various time slots available on both days<\/h4>\n

Find all of Santa\u2019s Gnomes in the park on this self-led trail.<\/p>\n

Free Dr Bike Sessions at Stover Country Park<\/h2>\n

Last Saturday of every month.<\/p>\n

Book your free 25 minute slot with a qualified mechanic to check the safety of your bike<\/p>\n

Volunteers’ days<\/h2>\n

Why not join our growing army of conservation volunteers on the last Sunday of every month between September and April. Tasks are varied and all tools are provided. No special skills are needed – just bring along lunch and old clothes. See our volunteering page for more details.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sunday 27 September \u2013 Rhododendron Clearance<\/h4>\n

Help remove invasive Rhododendron to benefit the native woodland flora.<\/p>\n

Sunday 25 October \u2013 Meyer Rockery Garden at Stover School<\/h4>\n

Help with maintenance work in and around the Meyer Rockery Garden within Stover Historic Park.<\/p>\n

Sunday 29 November \u2013 Grassland<\/h4>\n

We will be cutting and raking last year\u2019s herbage in preparation for the Spring. This will benefit the flowering plants and butterfly species such as the pearl-bordered fritillary.<\/p>\n

Sunday 31 January, Sunday 28 February, Sunday 21 March, Sunday 25 April<\/h4>\n
