Start pages are designed to offer a user an overview of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what transaction they are completing<\/li>\n<li>how many pages or sections the form has<\/li>\n<li>what information they may need to provide in order to complete the transaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each start page should consist of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the name of the service<\/li>\n<li>a short introduction<\/li>\n<li>the number of pages\/sections<\/li>\n<li>a start button or call to action<\/li>\n<li>additional information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Below is an example of what a start page should contain.<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel\">\n<h3>Book your appointment<\/h3>\n<p>Book your appointment to register a birth.<br \/>\nThis form has: 6 pages<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button cta\" href=\"#\">Start now<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Before you start<\/strong><br \/>\nYou will need to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Where the child\/children were born<\/li>\n<li>The child\/childrens\u2019 date of birth<\/li>\n<li>The mother\u2019s full name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also book an appointment by phoning 0345 155 1002.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Further supporting information about start pages can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/service-manual\/user-centred-design\/resources\/patterns\/start-pages.html\" rel=\"noopener\">GDS website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Transactional or complex forms should begin with a start page.
