Curriculum – A Strategy for Social Justice
Thursday 6 February 2020 – Sandy Park, Exeter – 09.15am – 12.45pm
Ofsted have shifted their focus to the curriculum and referenced that this is driven by their belief that the curriculum is the key to improve social justice. This seminar will explore the ongoing challenges faced by schools to address the gap in outcomes for children from different social backgrounds and review how curriculum can be used as an effective strategy to support this aspiration.
This session will provoke debate, challenge thinking and offer an opportunity to hear what others are doing. It will give you time to reflect on how your current curriculum supports those children who are currently disadvantaged by the very system that is supposed to improve their opportunities. Whether you have one or two children or a high proportion of children who fit this description in your school or class there will be something useful and interesting to support your work.
