Social media awareness masterclass: Promoting good mental health in schools
Friday 15 March 2019 – Mercure Southgate Hotel, Exeter – 09:30 – 12:15
In a time dominated by technology, it is more important than ever to understand the dangers of the online community and become aware of our student’s social media use.
This half day event will look at current policies in place to protect our children online and discuss what we can do to further ensure their safety. Our keynote speakers will outline what the younger generation are witness to or victim of on a daily basis through social media, cyber-bullying and general internet content. They will also help delegates to understand the role a teacher holds in the protection and prevention of online and social media dangers, raise awareness of the help that is available to those who are vulnerable online, and provide tools for our children so they can understand the impact of social media use on their mental health.
