General Data Protection Regulation Masterclass: From a School’s Perspective | Tuesday 30th January 2018
A closer look at the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) from a school’s perspective with keynote Amber Badley LLM from Firebird Data Consultancy Ltd.
Amber has worked with schools for many years and specialises in supporting schools to prepare for, and manage the GDPR pre-and post-implementation.
This masterclass will include practical guidance on what you should be doing now to prepare for the deadline in May 2018; how to avoid fines and compensation claims and the role of the Data Protection Officer (including who should and shouldn’t be one!) to help you ensure that your school safeguards its information, as well as its reputation.
The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will form part of UK Law from 25th May 2018 and whilst its requirements are similar to the UK Data Protection Act, there are new elements and significant enhancements.
Given these new requirements there has never been a more important time to take action to ensure that your school is compliant and adequately prepared for the changes of the law.
