Charity Give As You Earn Scheme
It’s #GivingTuesday on 1st December 2015 – why not celebrate by signing up to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Give As You Earn Scheme, via payroll?
The CAF Give As You Earn Scheme enables you to donate some of your pay to a charity of your choice. Donations made to charity through CAF Give As You Earn are taken from your pay after your National Insurance contributions are removed but before Income Tax is calculated and deducted, which means that you could lower the amount of tax you pay.
You have complete control over which charity or charities receive your money. You can donate through CAF Give As You Earn to any of the 160,000 registered charities or nominate a smaller charitable organisation. You also have the option to remain anonymous from any charity you donate to.
You can set the amount you would like to donate and how often. Every £1 you donate only costs you 80p if you are a basic rate tax payer – less if you’re on a higher rate. CAF will take a small administration fee from your donation.
