EXPIRED Takeover Day

National Takeover Day seeks to give children and young people the chance to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision-making. Children and young people benefit from the opportunity to experience the world of work and make their voices heard, while adults and organisations gain a fresh perspective on what they do. It is organised and promoted by the Children’s Commissioner with the help of Involver, a social enterprise which works specifically on encouraging schools to involve children and young people in decision-making. This year, National Takeover Day will take place on Friday 21st November.

Here, at Devon County Council, we will be giving young people the opportunity to play a part in decision making; shadowing the Corporate Leadership Team, the Safeguarding Board and Children’s Social Work Senior Management Team. Young people will work to develop an action plan for consideration and implementation on the themes of Corporate Parenting, multi-agency working and the voice of the child. Please support young people to take this time out from school to participate in this important development opportunity.
