The Way We Deal with Employment Status and IR35 is Changing!
If you ever employ an individual or a company to come in and complete a task for you “off-payroll”, you’ll be affected by HMRC’s tax legislation.
Currently we use HMRC’s online tool to get a status decision on whether your worker is employed or self-employed for tax purposes. On Monday 18 November 2019 this process is going to change.
After this date, we will be using the Devon County Council Employment Status Check to help us determine whether the worker is employed or self-employed for tax.
On the 18 November, the Employment Status Portal will also become live. From here you’ll be able to access not only the Employment Status Check, but news and guidance about ‘off-payroll’ working which will help you deal with the topic. Later this week you will be sent instructions of how to access this so please keep an eye on your inbox.
