South West Early Years Foundation Stage Conference: The Gender Agenda – Addressing the Gap – Monday 1 October 2018 – Sandy Park Conference Centre, Exeter
By the end of the EYFS, boys are likely to have fallen behind girls in every area of learning and development. New findings also confirm that the gender gap is highest in the most deprived areas. Whilst the well reported performance gap between boys and girls starts to show improvement within the EYFS in Devon, there is still almost 14% difference.
Led by expert keynote speakers Neil Farmer (author of ‘Getting it Right for Boys’) and Penny Tassoni (author of ‘Reducing Educational Disadvantage’) the conference will explore and consider strategies to support all practitioners to diminish the difference in outcomes within the EYFS.
A range of keynote presentations and complementing workshops will inspire, motivate and equip early years practitioners to effectively support all children’s learning and development, enabling each unique child to succeed, whatever their gender or background.
