Consultation: Sutcombe Primary School

We are, with regret, consulting on the future of Sutcombe Primary School which may lead to a decision to close the school.

Sutcombe Primary School is a community school for pupils aged 4-11. Pupil numbers have fallen over recent years and the school currently has 20 pupils on roll. The school has been in a management partnership but this will not be continuing due to concerns over viability with so few pupils. The Governors have been unable to secure leadership for the school from September 2015.

An information session is being held at the Village Memorial Hall, Sutcombe on 16 September 2015 from 3:30pm until 6:30pm with representatives from the Governing Body and Devon County Council. The information session is not run in the format of a public meeting and you are welcome to attend any time between 3:30 and 6:30pm.

A consultation brochure is available to view via: https://www.devon.gov.uk/haveyoursay/

We would like to hear views on this proposal. The closing date for responses to be received is 5pm on Tuesday 20 October 2015. Responses can be made via the on-line survey at: https://www.devon.gov.uk/haveyoursay/ or by emailing: schoolconsultations@devon.gov.uk or writing to: Strategic Planning-Children’s Services, Room AB2, Devon County Council, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 4QD.
