NJC for Local Government Services Pay Award 2016 and 2017
The Local Government Association (LGA) has confirmed that the Pay Award for the NJC for Local Government Services has now been agreed. The agreement means relevant staff will receive a pay increase of 1 per cent from 1 April 2016 and 1 per cent from 1 April 2017, with those on the lowest spinal column points receiving a higher than 1per cent salary increase, which also reflects the National Living Wage requirements.
This year’s pay award will be backdated to 1st April 2016 and will be paid as part of the June pay run. For those employees on points 6 (Grade A), 7 and 8 (Grade B), where the National Living Wage was paid from 1st April 2016, pay will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the new NJC rate.
In addition to the above, Devon County Council has agreed that the 1 per cent pay increase will also apply to those employees on point 50 (Grade T). This is outside the scope of the National Agreement.
Please note that this pay award only applies to those staff employed under the NJC for Local Government Services Agreement. This pay award does not apply to teachers, teachers in residential establishments, those under NHS pay arrangements, senior managers (the D and L grades) or those on Soulbury or Youth and Community terms and conditions, where separate pay award arrangements apply.
