South West Teaching and Learning Conference: Making Professional Development Matter – Monday 2 July 2018
This one day conference will bring together nationally renowned keynote speakers, Philippa Cordingley (CUREE) , David Weston (Teacher Development Trust) and Dame Alison Peacock (Chartered College of Teaching) to explore the topic of professional development and learning. All schools engage in professional development but this does not always have the impact desired, often because it does not focus on collaborative professional learning.
Practical case studies as well as wider evidence will be used to exemplify the approaches that exceptional schools and leaders take to support effective, collaborative professional learning. The sessions will also examine the research behind leadership, appraisal and professional development and present clear findings about what schools need to stop doing and what schools need to start doing in order to effect change.
"Weeks run from Monday to Sunday. Please note that weeks without communications to schools are ignored and the links will go to the last week where a communication was made in this category."
