EXPIRED Exeter Careers Fair 2017

Exeter Consortium are delighted to announce we will be holding our 1st Careers Event on Wednesday 26 April at St James School, Exeter.

We would like to invite you to this event which is open to all students, parents and carers in the Exeter area and will be particularly relevant to years 9, 10, 11 and Post 16. However, year 6 students from local primary schools are welcome if they would find it useful.

The aim of the event is to give students the opportunity to gather information, explore options on their doorstep and beyond, to attain knowledge and help shape decision making for their future subject choices. There will be “hands on” advice and workshops, such as CV writing, interview technique and even some practical demonstrations to “whet the appetite.”

Representatives from Universities in the South West, local businesses, Armed Forces, Further Education Providers and volunteering services will be present to help inform students of the variety and scope of careers, the different pathways available, skills and qualifications required so they can make informed choices about their future. For Example, Exeter College will be in attendance, to include Catering, Engineering, Maths & Science, Hair & Beauty, Apprenticeships, Sports and the General Advice Team.

We very much hope that students will feel inspired and excited about the event and will leave with a greater awareness of the world of work. Forging links with local businesses is an important asset to widening the horizons of career opportunities and making students think about careers they didn’t even know existed!

We very much look forward to seeing you at the event.
