EXPIRED The Art of Diversity’ – The Prince’s Trust
My team and I are currently participating in the Million Maker’s scheme – an initiative run by The Prince’s Trust which helps to support disadvantaged young people across the UK.
I’ve included a link to the scheme below:
The initiative my team and I are running is called ‘The Art of Diversity’. It is a nationwide art competition with the theme ‘diversity’ across schools and colleges in the UK. Diversity is such an important topic in both the curriculum and in society. We hope to not only raise £10,000 through this initiative, but raise awareness of the charity and celebrate the incredibly diverse society we live in. This is something we feel will be beneficial for students to get talking and thinking about and physically create something that represents their interpretation of diversity. We are eager to get this competition into schools and colleges.
Should students wish to participate, they would be required to donate £2 to upload a piece of art (poem, drawing, painting, etc.) to a website/page which we are setting up.
We are approaching councils with this initiative and the idea would be to allow students to upload their art on this website/page and see contributions from their fellow peers. The intention would then be that 90 entrants will be shortlisted, which will be displayed at an event in a gallery in London – where the shortlisted will be invited to view their artwork. At this event, we will have a public figure/celebrity to award/announce the top winners with prizes. This event will also be open to the public to attend.
What I am requesting is whether you would be able to communicate this via your channels if I were to send you the full pack/information? My team want to get the competition distributed as quickly as possible to allow for as many children as possible to participate. All money raised goes to the Prince’s Trust.
This is just a very brief explanation of the initiative but if it is something you sound interested in relaying to schools, I’m happy to go into more depth with the details.
This is a project which I think will be very successful among your community!
I look forward to hearing from you.
