Sandygate M5 J30 – traffic signal
When the work is happening:
Works are taking place between 2 November and 8 December 2020. We will be carrying out carriageway works in the evening only which will consist of lane closures where required. Any daytime works will not impact the highway.
What we are doing:
We are replacing traffic signals at the Sandygate M5 Junction 30 in Exeter. The scheme will upgrade the traffic signals at four of the junctions including the North and Southbound M5 off slip approaches, the A379 Spur Road approach and the approach from the services roundabout.
The works will replace existing equipment which is at the end of its design life with new extra low voltage traffic signal equipment which offers power savings and improved safety.
Temporary traffic signals will be needed while this work is undertaken. The temporary lights will work in the same way as the permanent signals at this location.
To install/decommission these temporary facilities and to complete other civils works there will be a requirement for various lane closures around the Junction 30 roundabout which are due to take place in evenings only, on the Sunday and Monday evenings through November and early December.
