Dartmouth (Mayors Avenue and North Embankment)
What are we doing?
We will be carrying out essential resurfacing works along Mayors Avenue and North Embankment, Dartmouth, which will involve some temporary road closures. The work is needed to ensure the road is maintained in a safe condition.
When are we doing the works?
In liaison with the Town Council, we have planned for the work to be carried out in a quieter time for the town centre.
- Mayors Avenue will be closed from 5 to19 November
- North Embankment will be closed overnight on 19 and 20 November
Essential resurfacing work will take place along Mayors Avenue from 5 November until 19 November.
To enable us to carry out this work safely, the road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the work. Pedestrian access will be maintained for businesses and residential properties along the affected section. A signed diversion route will be in place for traffic.
Local businesses will be open as usual but vehicle access will be restricted. The public car park on Mayors Avenue will remain open but via an alternative entrance on The Quay, adjacent to the Tourist Information Centre. Drivers will also still be able to access on-street parking between Flavel Place and the north end of The Quay.
Following on from the work on Mayors Avenue, we will be resurfacing a section of North Embankment.
This will require a temporary closure of North Embankment. However, in order to minimise disruption to traffic and local businesses the work will be carried out overnight. The work will take place on 19 and 20 November, between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
During the road closure, a diversion route will be signed.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential work.
