B3174 Mill Street, Ottery St Mary
We will be repairing the waterproofing on the bridge deck of St Saviours Bridge and carriageway resurfacing along Mill Street.
When the road will be closed:
Mill Street will be closed from 1st March until 9th March for the bridge repair work. This will be a full 24 hour closure.
Mill Street will also be closed over 2 nights on 10 and 11 March 2021 for the resurfacing. The road will be closed from 7pm each night and we hope to finish by midnight or shortly after. A signed diversion route will be in place while the road is closed.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the closure and the road will be open each day.
What we are doing:
We are coordinating two types of work to enable us to reduce any disruption.
Phase 1: Repairing deck waterproofing St Saviours Bridge, Mill Street.
We will be repairing the waterproofing on the bridge deck of St Saviours Bridge. This will take up to 9 days to complete. For safety and for technical reasons we will need to close the road to carry out this work.
A signed diversion route will be in place during the closure period.
Phase 2: Resurfacing Mill Street.
The bridge repairs will be followed by carriageway resurfacing along Mill Street. The carriageway resurfacing will be carried out over 2 nights. The section affected will be from Thorne Farm Way to Millcroft.
For safety reasons, during our operations a temporary road closure will be in place from 7pm. However, pedestrian access will be maintained.
The resurfacing will be carried out overnight to minimise disruption to the town centre. We endeavour to complete the noisiest of our operations as early as possible, but we apologise in advance for the inconvenience this work may cause.
