A386 Plymouth Road, Tavistock
What are we doing?
This scheme extends from the roundabout accessing Morrison’s supermarket to just north of the Texaco garage on Plymouth Road. It consists of the upgrade of the existing zebra crossing to a puffin crossing, resurfacing and reconstruction of over 0.5 km of the full width of the carriageway, making changes to the existing lining and cleaning the drainage system and traffic signs.
What traffic management will we use?
7 October to 28 October – Temporary traffic signals operational during the day under restricted working hours – changes to tactiles, lighting and crossing
29 October to 4 November – Road closure operational from 7.00pm until 7.00am with diversion route – carriageway reconstruction works
5 November to 8 November – Transfer zebra crossing to puffin crossing
6 October 8.00pm to 6 November 8.00pm – Parking suspension will be enforced
Shops and access for residents will be open and accessible as usual during the works and pedestrian access will be maintained. No work will take place on Goose Fair day.
Closure and diversion routes
The route shown directs traffic along a similar standard of road to that being closed so that all vehicles, including large articulated vehicles, can safely use the diversion route. Lighter traffic with good knowledge of the area will be able to use local roads to take shorter routes around the closure.
