A385 Ashburton Road, Dartington – surfacing work
What we are doing
We are carrying out carriageway resurfacing work on the nights of Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September on the A385 Ashburton Road, Dartington, as it has reached the end of its serviceable life. The work will be carried out under night-time closures, due to traffic volumes during the day.
When and where we are closing the road
Tuesday 1 September to Friday 4 September 2020.
Why the road must be closed
Traffic management is needed due to the width of the road and for the safety of the workforce.
Work will be done at night – Tuesday 1 September to Friday 4 September 7pm – 7am under a road closure.
In order to minimise the disruption to the public and to manage operating hours of local businesses.
Road closure and official suggested diversion route.
The local authority is obliged to sign diversions that use roads of the same classification to the road that is temporarily closed. Drivers may choose to use local knowledge to identify alternative, and possibly shorter, routes.
How local traffic is being handled
The may be alternative routes available around the scheme through accessible lanes, however, drivers may choose to use local knowledge to identify alternative, and possibly shorter, routes. This is not the official diversion route, and caution should be taken if drivers decide to use non-official routes.
